Jackie Robinson x Nike Dunk Lows are finally releasing on July 19th for $130!!

On July 19, the MLB All-Star Game will head to sunny Los Angeles for an annual exhibit celebrating the game's present and best performances of the past. Nike did a lot of planning for the event, unveiling All-Star Game jerseys and Lunar Cortez baseball shoes for Swoosh athletes participating throughout the weekend. To continue supporting the Jackie Robinson Foundation, Nike will release a special edition Dunk Low on July 19 on SNKRS, UNDFTD and select retailers.

Jackie Robinson is arguably one of the best second basemen to hit baseball diamonds. However, Robinson's game isn't just on the field. Today, he continues to be honored for breaking the MLB color barrier in 1947. The league celebrates Jackie Robinson Day on April 15 every year, when every player can don his No. 42 jersey on that day. Robinson played 11 years for the Brooklyn Dodgers from 1947 to 1956 and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1962.

Nike is a long-term funder of the Jackie Robinson Foundation (JRF), investing nearly $3 million over the past five years ($1 million in FY22) to support its academics, mentoring and leadership development programs and museum. JRF Scholars receive university scholarships over four years and benefit from programs including career guidance, internships, and permanent job placement. The Jackie Robinson Museum in New York City will document his seminal achievements for the next generation of athletes.

Over the past year or so, the Nike Dunk Low has seen a massive comeback. It has been one of the most popular sneakers of its time. It's special to see the Swoosh brand celebrate one of the baseball icons with its own colorways and unique touches on popular shoe silhouettes.

What does Jackie Robinson's dunk look like?

One of the key features of the shoe is printed with Robinson's iconic 1947 quote, "I don't care if you like or dislike me...I just ask you to respect me as a person."

You can also see Robinson's legendary size 42 on the outside near the heel tab. The colors used for this idea were inspired by the colors of the Dodgers uniforms while Robinson was playing. A "75 YRS" logo label on the tongue represents the 75th anniversary of Robinson's color-barrier-breaking debut with the Dodgers.
